Description
We are stoked to announce a project that has been a long time in the making. Masa is our take on a Mexican-style lager, but not the one you’re used to. This is a beer with a depth that can only be achieved through thoughtful ingredient selection, extra effort, and time. We built this beer on a premium blend of Pilsen, Munich, and Vienna malts, paired with nixtamalized white Chalqueño corn sourced from Oaxaca, Mexico. Nixtamalization is an ancient process of soaking the kernels in alkaline water to unlock their full flavour and nutritional potential. This traditional method transforms the grain into fresh masa, giving the beer a distinctively rich, toasted-corn aroma and a velvety finish you won't find in your average lager. We hopped it with Hallertauer Mittelfrueh to bring a refined, floral elegance and a modern touch that perfectly balances the brew without compromising the delicate flavours of the masa. This isn't your typical light Mexican lager; it's a bold, flavourful beer crafted for sunny summer weather and slow afternoons on the patio.
