Some of our favourite humans in the industry own a brewery called Herman. We always have a blast getting together with these folks and couldn’t wait to get them down to Bloomfield for another anniversary lager. This year, we decided to shine a light on a style we think is seriously underrated: the French Pilsner. We’ve always had a lot of respect for the subtle complexity of this style, and we wanted to brew something that really shows off why it’s so special. The star of the show is the hop combo of Strisselspalt and Perle. These French hops bring a unique, refreshing quality that’s hard to find elsewhere. It makes the beer feel incredibly crisp and delicious. We leaned into the freshness of these hops by keeping the body light and the carbonation high, giving it a bright, champagne-like sparkle. It’s ultra-smooth, deeply refreshing, and exactly the kind of unique lager we love to drink. We’re stoked on how this turned out and can’t wait for you to try it.
